5 Things You Shouldn't Put Off
Some things in life can wait...
But these "5 things regarding your motorcycle" should never be put off. If you notice these issues, you must address them immediately!
"Because if you don't take care of your bike... it might not take care of you in an emergency!"
Headlights/Taillights/Signal Lights
- Non-functional headlights make night riding difficult due to poor visibility.
- Non-functional taillights make you invisible to other vehicles at night, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision.
- Non-functional signal lights increase the risk of sideswipes or collisions when turning or changing lanes.
Brake Pads
Continuing to ride with worn-out brake pads causes the metal backing plate to grind against the brake disc, damaging the disc and reducing braking efficiency.
Tires
Using tires with surface cracking (dry rot) or worn-out tread significantly reduces wet-road grip, increases the risk of skidding, and creates a danger of tire blowouts.
Engine Oil/Brake Fluid
Using old engine oil or exceeding the recommended change interval causes rapid engine wear. Old brake fluid that has absorbed moisture has a lower boiling point, which can lead to brake failure or a "spongy" brake feel.
Chain
An excessively loose chain causes power loss and risks slipping off or snapping during acceleration, potentially locking the rear wheel and causing a serious accident.
Because procrastinating on these specific maintenance tasks
doesn't just accelerate wear and tear—it can lead to sudden mechanical failure and cause serious accidents!
